You're the one that I think about all daaaay

I wrote this blog entry a long time ago. I was going through my draft folder and was like, whoa, I should upload this. And with the wedding fastly approaching, it makes sense. I'm not going to reveal as much as I did like Locks situation but hey, here's some of me and Officer's background :)

I'm pretty open about my background. I gave you a glimpse of my early "love" life with Locks here, part 2 and finally part 3. I write about my past not to gain sympathy but to build a basis for some of the opinions I might express on this blog.

Officer is the biggest support system I have in my life. I honestly don't have parental figures that give me advice, check up on me or anything like that so I often bounce my ideas off of Officer. But how did we get so  close? Let me begin....

Baltimore Ravens vs Houston Texans, Playoffs!

The Baltimore Ravens are still all up in there!

Whew, my Ravens won, 20-13. It was an ugly, ugly win. The Houston Texan played some defense and pretty much eliminated our run game. Flacco took more than a couple of naps Sunday night with him getting sacked 5 times *sighs*

Thank God for our defense though. Houston was sloppy with the ball the first half of the game which gave us 17 points. Webb was beastly and the old tried and true Ed Reed sealed the deal with an interception.

The Ravens play pretty boy Tom Brady and the Patriots this Sunday and I'm playing that Terrell Suggs has some sacks stored up because he was a non-mf-ing factor against the Texans.

I'm super duper nervous but I have faith in my boys.

Sitting up in my room...

There's something about the holidays that tends to trigger feelings you have of distance and/or family members that passed on. I'm getting hit double with all the wedding planning I'm doing. If you didn't know, I wasn't raised by my biological family. In fact I never "lived" with them. My parents were 19 when they had me and 21 when they had my sister. They were young, dumb and ....... living in Baltimore. They tried by their own accounts to set up house but for whatever reasons it didn't stand. I don't fault them, blame them, or hate them at all. My experiences growing up, good or bad, made makes me the person I am today.

Even though I wasn't one of the Cosbys, I didn't go to Hilman *Kanye stance* I remember some things about my parents as a child.

Flacco, yes the Ravens are 9-3. I know you might be feeling yourself and all but what's that hairy caterpillar under your nose? It's already hideous but you shaped it up too? Um, did you ask Ray Lewis for permission to grow that overgrown thingy? Ugh.

Yes, I am a student of Ball So Hard University. However I didn't stay my whole class period yesterday. I was at Walmart practicing tackling skills for Black Friday sales. I did manage to slip into my seat the last 10 minutes of the 4th quarter.

My Ravens are now 8-3. I cringe at the 3 losses. Those losses were to inferior opponents. We should be 11-0 but... ugh nevermind. I didn't even get to blog about Sunday's game against the Bengals because it was such a short week. (We won too).

Lady: No you can't. You can just look at the pictures. You can't read.

Ravens vs Steelers: 23- 20 W

My baby daddies did it! The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Pittsburg Steelers on their home field tonight. I screamed, cried and almost sprain my ankle watching this game.

We are 2-0 against the Steelers this season praise Jill Scott.

Summing up the game:

Annoyances pt 1

1. Late replies back to text messages, like 15-20 mins late.

2. Waiting for someone whose "on their way" i.e. never left the house or is constantly "5 mins away."

3. When you have a date set with someone and when you call to confirm, the person doesn't answer the phone or reply to text. Huh? We're adults, right?

4. Parents who treat kids as accessories on the weekends, stop.

5. Usage of the words hater and the n-word *cringe*

8. Paying crazy cable prices only to have 7-10 quality channels.

9. Relationship issues, ugh.

Victory tastes so sweet...

My Ravens are now 5-2 praise Jill Scott! I'll have to admit the first half against the Cardinals yesterday was straight poo poo. Our offense couldn't get it started and a string of turnovers resulted in Cardinal points. By half time, my Ravens jersey was shredded to Hulk proportions.

But the second quarter, Flacco got into rhythm. I'm thinking Pizza Hut gave him a buzz in the locker room. Joe Cool remembered he had tight ends and wait, Boldin was on the team too? Magic happened and we were in the game again.

The Cardinals and Ravens game was definitely a rollercaster ride. It was fun and I even put my hands up.

Ravens/Cardinals 30-27.

Summing up the game:
Boldin: 7 receptions, 145 yards
Rice: 18 carries, 63 yards and 3 (!!!!) touchdowns

My Ravens lost against a team that had a 5 game losing streak. What the ___?

Our offense looked terrible. It was embarrassing. For some reason the Ravens always playing like limp noodles on Monday Night Fight ball games. You're on a national stage! Play with some urgency!

Flacco: 21/38 for 137 yds

And the rest of the receiving team was nothing to even comment about...

The absolute worst thing about "our" lost last night was that we are no longer number 1 in the AFC North, the Steelers now are, UGGGGGHHHHH!

Envy

I totally have green eyes right now (jealousy). Officer and I had neighbors 3 years ago who we grew close with. They matched our swag. Our kids were the same age, the wife and I were stay at home moms, the men worked etc, etc. We had the same struggles as well, financial being the most common one. We both were living day by day. But then, our neighbors told us they were moving out of state because the husband was starting a new career.

Fast forward 3 years later, the husband is in advertisements for a branch of the armed forces nationwide and the wife is in local newspapers for winning a trip for completing her BA in two majors. I love them and am beyond happy for them but... what about us lol.

I want to move out of Baltimore badly. I feel held back here.  Same people, same sh-t. When Officer and I went to see our neighbors renew their vows, I asked how were they able to accomplish all their goals like they had, and the wife said, Just moving was everything. A fresh start.

Hmph, who knows, Atlanta here I come?

Happy Birthday Sissy!

My sister turned 25 yesterday! Which made me realize how much older I'm becoming *groan* I can't believe, hell I refuse to believe it. I remember being 6 or 7, chasing her down the hallway with a head less Barbie doll. Damn.

Anyway, years past my sister used to get depressed around her birthday because our "family" never call or did anything for her. This year I decided even if I had to rob a puppy, I was going to take her out. So I did.

I took her to a swanky little restaurant named www.teavolve.com. The happy hour pricing was beyond reasonable. We had $3-$4 glasses of wine and sangiras! And the food was awesomely priced too. Oh, and the cheapness of the food made it taste that much better ;)

We ate, drunk and laughed. Me and my sister rarely hang out because when I go out she's the one watching my girls lol. She told me about her recent NY trip and how she was thinking about living there. We both teared up about the possibility of us living in different states Maybe it was the wine? And I told her stories about daily living with my little monsters. It was the best night out I had in a minute. I love my sister dearly. Her and all her  25 years.


Sidenote: Neither of us took pictures of each other last night. We critique ourselves so hard. I mean, we say down right awful stuff. No one understands that but us :)


Oh, I saw one of my Twitter followers. I'm currently on hiatus from Twitter and he said, "I'm missing all my Lady J stories!" Hilarious!
